There is tension in two neighbouring Enugu communities — Etiti Ngwo and Umugwuakum Attakwu Akwuke — following the gruesome murder of a final-year student of the Department of Accounting, Federal Polytechnic Akanu Ibiam, Uwana Sochima Onoh. Sochima, a native of Umuene, Etiti Ngwo Community, was reportedly murdered on Saturday by youths of Attakwu Akwuke in Enugu South Local Government Area of the state. According to reports, the incident happened when Sochima and other members of his community went with the police to inspect their properties, including residential houses, farms, and economic trees, destroyed by the people of Attakwu on Saturday. Unfortunately, after the inspection, the police left, and while the villagers were going home, the Attakwu youths allegedly laid an ambush against them and shot Sochima dead, while others escaped with bullet wounds. A senior police officer from MTD Police Division, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed the killing of the student.
