Nigerian driver, simply identified as Kingsley, has been declared missing and presumed dead after being swept away by ocean currents at Tarkwa-Bay Beach in Lagos. The incident happened on Sunday afternoon during a beach outing with two Indian nationals, who reportedly work for the Dangote Company in Lekki. Police said the expatriates visited the Tarkwa-Bay Police Division to report that their driver had joined them for a day out and entered the water around 4:00 p.m. He was caught by strong waves and did not resurface. “All efforts to recover his body have so far been unsuccessful,” a police source confirmed. Officers from the division were sent to the beach shortly after the report was made. A search and recovery effort began, but as of the time of this report, his body had not been found. Authorities say only the driver’s first name is known at this stage, and steps are being taken to gather more information about his identity.
