Bashir Adamu Jibril, an operative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has been lynched at the Shurawin market, Kiyawa Local Government Area of Jigawa State. It was gathered that the incident occurred at about 2 pm on Monday, August 4, 2025. The NSCDC Jigawa State Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASC Badruddeen Tijjani, who confirmed the incident said the officer was attacked and killed while on duty at the market. “The officer was on assignment at the Shurawin market when the incident happened," Tijjani said in an interview. The incident occurred inside the cattle-selling unit of the Shuwarin market (Kara), where Jibril was reportedly on assignment when he was attacked by the mob. “The attackers, allegedly armed with knives, overpowered the officer and subjected him to a brutal lynching. The attackers attacked the officer with knives, and unfortunately, he lost his life," Tijjani explained.
