Orozo community in the Federal Capital Territory was thrown into confusion early Thursday morning following the death of an unidentified man believed to be a victim of jungle justice. Residents around the popular Arab Junction woke to the sight of a lifeless body, attracting a large crowd of onlookers, many of whom expressed uncertainty about the events leading to the incident. Speaking anonymously, a female POS operator in the area said the deceased was allegedly among a group of 10 young men who had been terrorising Okada riders in the Angwan Sarki area, targeting them at night to steal their motorcycles. According to her, the gang’s latest attempt went wrong when the riders reportedly chased them. Nine of the suspects managed to escape, but one was apprehended and allegedly beaten to death by an angry mob. Sources in the community disclosed that the area chief and youth leader promptly informed the police about the development.
