A privately owned healthcare facility in Bida local government area of Niger State, Azman Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) and Maternity, popularly known as Asibiti Nanna, has been razed by fire. It was gathered that the incident, which occurred in the Kotaworo Area, opposite the Sule-Fire house, between 2 am and 3 am on Wednesday, reduced the entire building to rubble. The blaze raged for more than an hour, and nothing inside the facility was salvaged. It was further gathered that residents of the area rushed to the scene and prevented the flames from spreading to nearby houses. Their intervention was crucial in averting a larger tragedy, even though the healthcare centre itself was destroyed. But no casualties or injuries were reported. The fire service, located near the scene, reportedly did not intervene throughout the duration of the incident.
