Suspected bandits have killed one person and abducted an unspecified number of people in Dantankari community, Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State. The incident which occurred on Wednesday night also resulted in about half a dozen persons sustaining various degrees of injuries. Eyewitnesses said several of the residents were sitting outside their homes and chatting with friends and relations when the attack occurred. One of the eyewitnesses, who asked not to be named, said, “The bandits attacked while people were sitting outside chatting. Suddenly, we heard sporadic gunshots coming from various directions. “They killed one person, injured five, and abducted many others,” even as he lamented that no help came from security operatives, even though efforts were made to contact them. Another source stated that the bandits abducted several individuals, including women and children, but the actual number will only be known when residents are informed of missing family members.
