Suspected hoodlums reportedly stabbed a commercial cyclist, identified as Lawal Ibrahim, to death along Kilankwa village in the Kwali Area Council of the FCT. A Kwali resident, Musa Alhassan, said the incident happened at the weekend around 5:33 pm. He said the cyclist picked up two passengers from the Kwali market who were heading to Kilankwa village, adding that during the ride, one of the passengers pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the neck. The cyclist lost control and fell and the hoodlums took his bike and sped off. He added, ‘’Some villagers returning from their farms discovered the cyclist lying by the roadside in a pool of blood and alerted some vigilantes. The vigilantes rushed to the scene and took the cyclist to the hospital in Dabi, where he died shortly after arriving. His remains were handed over to his relatives for burial.’’ A vigilante member, Lazarus Isaac, confirmed the incident, saying that the cyclist was rescued alive but died while undergoing treatment. A police source at the Kwali division also confirmed the incident.
