A farmer simply identified as Tope from Okolok community in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State was brutally attacked by bandits on his farm on Wednesday morning. According to reports, the assailants invaded the farmland, attacked the victim, and made away with his motorcycle, leaving him severely injured. It was gathered that military personnel stationed in the area reportedly responded swiftly, rescuing the victim and conveying him to ECWA Hospital, Egbe, where he is currently receiving treatment. Meanwhile, another attack occurred a day earlier in Odo Ogbe, Isanlu, a community in Yagba East Local Government Area. According to a local news outlet, Egbe Mekun Parrot, the bandits struck around 1pm on Tuesday, snatching a motorcycle from a commercial rider who narrowly escaped death. It was further gathered that a man sustained gunshot wounds during the incident and is currently being treated at an undisclosed hospital in Offin Isanlu. Residents of Yagba East and West have expressed growing concerns over the rising cases of banditry in the area. They called for urgent intervention from security agencies to restore peace and safety in the affected communities
