Unidentified gunmen have abducted the Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Samaila Bagudu, in his hometown in Bagudu Local Government Area of the state. The criminals were said to have stormed Bagudu town late Friday, firing sporadically to create panic. The Deputy Speaker was reportedly whisked away shortly after he concluded his prayers and was returning home from the mosque. The Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Government, Ahmed Idris, confirmed the incident. Idrissaid security agencies had been alerted and efforts were ongoing to secure the the release of the state lawmaker.
